Today is Bloomsday - the 16 th of June when annually we celebrate ‘Ulysses’ by James Joyce the book , published in 1922, that changed the way novels were written in English forever. Here is my favourite quote from the book in 2 manifestations on the streets of Dublin. The first is a part of Anna Doran’s street art work ‘Love Lane’ in Temple Bar. The second is on a traffic box which also has a portrait of Joyce and another of Nora Barnacle . Frans Hals remains a bit of a mystery to me - even after an @artfultour to the @franshalsmuseum in his home town of Haarlem - a short train journey from @amsterdam XXX I have settled on the fact that his immense influence on so many artists, has contributed to and brought us the work of such artists as Van Gogh - as the reason for the respect given to him and to his popularity to this day. While in Haarlem - on the recommendation of my art warrior friend @unaocallaghan0 - we also visited the cathedral and saw the impressive Muller organ on which both Handel and Mozart played #haarlemnetherlands. It’s a theatre-museum designed by the artist himself & constructed in 1974 , in the place where the old Figueras theatre once stood. It is highly entertaining as you experience the biggest and best collection of works by Salvador Dalí (1904-1989) #savadordali #figuerescity #teatromuseudalifigueres #surrealist
